Send Message

The “Send message” dialog box allows you to send a message to another computer or network user. To send a message, specify the recipient in the “Send to” field and then type the message in the text field below. You can specify the name of a computer or a user as a recipient.

Windows XP: The Messenger service is used to send messages. By default, it is disabled in Windows XP so you will see the following message after you open the dialog box.

If you want to continue and send the message, please click the Yes button. It will start the service and you will be able to send the message.

Windows Vista: unfortunately, you cannot send a message because there is no Messenger service in this version of Windows.
