Throughput is usually measured in bits per second (bps) or Megabits per second (Mbps) and sometimes in data packets per second or data packets per time slot. Throughput of a particular device will always be lower than its stated Data rate. Throughput is the amount of data that can be sent from one location to another in a specific amount of time.
